Beachy Bee Eater 15/5/15

At long last a decent bird this spring in Sussex. Found by Laurence late morning, I quickly got the news out and made my way over and enjoyed this superb bird. It caught many bees whilst I was present and when it finally took off, it was heard calling several times heading west. A beauty!!

This afternoon on Seaford Head were 40 Green-winged Orchids

Last night the Cuckmere held surprisingly fewer Waders then the previous evening, with the most noteworthy being a Curlew on the scrape, which was later seen flying high to the north.

phone scoped Bee Eater at Beachy Head - only my second in Sussex following on from another Beachy bird back in 2008.
