Uganda - Day 4 20/6/16

After a restless nights sleep due to some Chimps calling light finally came with the first forest dawn chorus of the trip. After breakfast we headed out into the forest with Paul and another local guide. Our main target was Puvel's Illadopsis and after a short while we obtained good views deep in the forest of this very shy bird. Along another trail we came across a party of Chimpanzees. Although theoretically we were on a 'birding walk', we persuaded the guide to take us closer to the group. The Chimps were very cooperative especially the youngsters and one kept on showing off to us by hanging around. Back at the lodge where i had heard Brown Illadopsis in the morning, I played a recording and sure enough one came in and showed relatively well.
The afternoon we headed north to falls and enjoyed good views of Rock Pratincoles. The Tetse Flies caused a few issues but weren't as bad as first thought. We exited the park and arrived in Masindi for a two night stay, with the accommodation slowly becoming more basic.
